Hello ____________________,
My name is ___________________, and I am a/an ___________ (Haverford student, Bryn Mawr
Student, alum, parent, faculty, etc). I am writing to share my support for the Haverford Strike and to ask
you to take action to meet the demands they’ve set in the statement to President Raymond. The strike and
the demands aren’t just a response to the unacceptable letter that President Raymond sent out after the
murder of Walter Wallace Jr., but also to institutional and structural racism and anti-Blackness
experienced by Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) students at Haverford College. It is time
for Haverford College to truly support its BIPOC students and not continue to cause harm to them while
they are trying to learn and succeed.
The group of strike organizers sent you a letter on Monday to connect and share their frustrations and
concerns with how Black and brown students are treated and the actions that Haverford College needs to
take. I hope you take the time to listen and hear them, and respond in support of their efforts. As the board
of managers, you need to take quick action to respond to student demands. This goes beyond just
President Raymond, we are asking for your commitment to students as well.
Sincerely,
______________________________

Strike Statement for Students to Send out to Board of Managers
Email template created by strike organizers for strike participants to email the Board of Managers asking them to quickly respond to student demands. The template includes links to the HC 2020 Strike Statement & Demands and the November 2, 2020 letter to the Board of Managers from Women of Color (WOC) House, Black Students Refusing Further Inaction (BSRFI), and the Black Students League (BSL). It also includes the email addresses for each member of the Board of Managers. The template was probably created the week of November 2 after the letter to the Board of Managers was sent. This document was kept on the public student strike Google Drive.
