Hi Everyone,
Below is the response to President Raymond’s 11/6 Response to Revised Demands.
We hope you’re doing well. Attached are our comments on your second round of responses to the demands. At the top of
each section of comments, we have indicated whether or not we feel the demand has been met, and what would need to be
done to meet it more fully. The structure of this response, with its timelines, budgets, and responsibility markers, is much
more closely aligned to the concreteness we have long demanded, but not received until now.
We understand this is being received later than President Raymond's appointed deadline, however, this document reflects
a thorough evaluation of her response. We appreciate everyone's patience.
Although this work should be ongoing, there needs to be a realization that Haverford will never, in its current functioning,
become an anti-racist institution. Based on the fundamental principles of Higher Education and academia and the
founding of Haverford as a school for white males, no amount of reform can undermine that history and the legacy it
leaves on the institution today. There is no anti-racism without abolition. It is an ideal goal, and something the institution
should be working towards every day, but it is dangerous to think of anti-racist work as a box that can be checked off or a
benchmark to be achieved.
We look forward to her response later tonight.
In anger and in power,
Women of Color House, Black Students Refusing Further Inaction, Black Student League, and every single BIPOC
student this institution has failed
